There has been a dental practice at Southlands for over 30 years.

In 1988 the practice was taken over by Mr. Andrew Furniss who was the sole practice owner until the Autumn of 2002. 

Mrs. Ann Wren (nee Stamp) joined the practice in 1994.

Mr. Richard Bentley joined the practice in Autumn 2001, closely followed by Mrs. Cathy Bentley in the Spring of 2002. Mr. & Mrs. Bentley offer evening surgeries on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Since October 2002 the practice has been jointly owned and run by the two principals, Mr. Furniss and Mr. Bentley.

In January 2006 Mr. Luke Smith joined us. Mr. Smith has an interest in dental implants and is happy to arrange a consultation for enquiries about this type of dental treatment.

We have been recently joined by Dr. Denise McPartlin. Denise has joined us not only to provide general dental care, but also as a Periodontist for which she holds a post-graduate qualification (MSc in periodontology). Denise is happy to accept referrals from other practices for consultations and treatment for periodontal care.

All of our surgeries are located on the ground floor of the practice, which makes access much easier.

The surgeries and reception areas are modern and have been recently refurbished.

The practice also employs a Dental Therapist, Mrs. Claire Shearer. She is particularly skilled at promoting a preventative approach to dental care to improve the oral health of our patients. Claire has a particular interest in encouraging good oral health for the children who attend the practice. Her advice on toothbrushing and the "tooth care packs" for children continue to be very popular!

Our visiting Orthodontic specialist is Mr. John Bottomley. He also works as an orthodontic consultant at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn, and at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital in Norwich.
